Ranveer Singh has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood thanks to his powerful performances and unwavering spirit. The young Mumbaikar was always a film fanatic and worked very hard to make it to the top league of actors today. This tall and slender built guy is known for his cool attitude more than his films. But that does not take away the credit for this acting. He has done many critically acclaimed characters in his career of 8 years.
Ranveer was born on 6 July 1985 in Mumbai. Having spent his childhood in Mumbai, Ranveer was very active in sports, drama and dance. He got his schooling from Learners’ Academy in the city. He got a Bachelor of Arts degree from USA. Ranveer plunged into films with the Yash Raj production Band Baaja Baaraat in 2010.
Ranveer’s career took off with his super hit debut and repeated his good performance with later films like Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl and Bombay Talkies. One of his best performances came in the film Lootera which gave him ample scope to showcase hi talent. In Raam-Leela and Bajirao Mastani , he gave a splendid and top class performance which met with loads of appreciation and adulation. Gunday and Kill Dill were mostly average films that contributed little to his career. As Kabir Mehra in Dil Dhadkane Do, he impressed everyone with his charm and genuineness. His recent release Befikre was a disappointment.
Ranveer Singh is presently working on the film Padmavati which is marred by controversies in it’s production stage itself. The 31 year old actor has himself been involved in quite a few controversies in his career. His offensive tweets regarding Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger did not go down well with the audience. He used offense and objectionable speech in AIB Knock out event.
Ranveer received many awards for his acting. These include Filmfare award for Best Male Debut and Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Bajirao Mastani).
