Randeep Hooda is an accomplished actor in Hindi films. He is appreciated for his performances in films like Highway, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Jism 2, Murder 3 , Kick, Ungli, Mein Aur Charles and Sarbjit.
Randeep Hooda was born on 20 August 1976 in Haryana. His father was a surgeon and his mother a social worker. Belonging to a Jat family, Randeep was educated in Motilal Nehru School of sports in Rai, Haryana. He shifted to Delhi for further studies. He got his graduation from Australia. All the while he was interested in theatres and acted in plays in his school and college times. He got much exposure for his talent in Australia. After his return to India, he got in touch with director Mira Nair who was working for her film Monsoon Wedding in 2001. Randeep was cast in a significant role in the film which marked his film debut. It was following this that he decided to take acting seriously and joined National School of Drama in Delhi.
Randeep got a chance to play a gangster in Ram Gopal Verma’s film D. Although the film went without any success, Randeep got appreciation from critics. Later he was part of films like Love Khichdi, Ru Ba Ru and Darna Zaroori Hain, he was not reckoned as an established actor. Randeep got a small but significant role in the film Once Upon a Time in Mumbai which brought him much fame and appreciation. The film proved to be turning point for Randeep Hooda and Emraan Hashmi. There on he got commercial success and was reckoned for his realistic acting and good macho looks. His commercial success came with films Jism 2, Murder 3, Highway, Kick, Ungli and Main aur Charles.
Randeep Hooda has won awards for his works in films namely Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Highway and Main Aur Charles.
