Previous Controversy of Rajat Dalal

Rajat Dalal, a fitness influencer from Haryana, recently sparked outrage after a video of him hitting a biker while speeding at over 140 kmph on a busy Faridabad road went viral. In the footage, after hitting the biker, Dalal casually remarked, “Gir gaya, koi baat nahi. Roz ka yahi kaam hai ma’am” [He fell down, no big deal. This happens every day, ma’am].” This blatant disregard for safety led Faridabad police to take suo moto cognizance and register a case against him.

Dalal has since appeared at the Sarai Khawaja Police Station in Faridabad in relation to the reckless driving incident. Faridabad Police confirmed his appearance on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Accused Rajat Dalal appeared before the police in the case of negligent and dangerous driving, and action was taken as per the law.”

According to reports, the incident occurred on February 25 on Mathura Road and was recorded by Kartik Chhabra. Dalal had taken a car from the Volkswagen Capital Faridabad showroom for a test drive before speeding onto the national highway. On August 30, Dalal was charged under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code for reckless driving.

By September 1, the police had officially booked Dalal for negligent and dangerous driving. The Faridabad Police also announced that Dalal’s driving license would be canceled following the viral video, and they have taken the necessary steps to ensure this.

Commenting on the incident, the Deputy Commissioner of Faridabad emphasized that although no formal complaint had been lodged, the police took action on their own. “The investigation is underway, and strict measures will be taken against the offender,” he said.

A Delhi-based lawyer has also filed a complaint against Dalal, urging for appropriate legal action to prevent future violations of this nature.
