Protests Against Zaira Wasim In Srinagar
Zaira Wasim was in the news recently over the open letter that she posted on her social media account. The open letter contained an apology for her meeting with Mehboob Mufti. However, Zaira Wasim later deleted the letter and ever since then controversies have not ended for the Dangal girl.
Fresh protests erupted on January 20 in Srinagar following Zaira Wasim’s meeting with Mehboob Mufti. According to reports on ANI, the protesters had their faces covered with masks and burnt the effigy of the actress while raising slogans against her. The protester were also seen waving the Pakistani flag.

The main area of the entire protest was the Nowhatta region of Srinagar. The protest broke out near the Jamia Masjid after the Friday prayers.

During the protest, a few youth were seen carrying placards with pictures of Zaira Wasim and a young actress -Insha Malik- who had lost her vision due to pellet injuries last year. One of the placards had her picture with Mehboob Mufti which carried threat messages to kill the 16 year old actress.
The placard carried ominous message, “Justice with you. IS to kill you”.

Zaira Wasim however later deleted the tweet and also urged people to not make a mountain out of a mole hill and that it was not a matter to be carried forward.
