Priyanka Chopra’s Sikkimese Production PAHUNA Gets Unveiled In Cannes Film Festival

In an interview, Madhu (Priyanka’s mother) said, “It was a huge honour for everyone associated with Pahuna to attend the prestigious festival and present the film’s first look.”

The Baywatch fame actress took to twitter and said, “@purplepebblepictures Presents the 1st look of our Sikkimese film #Pahuna unveiled at Cannes.Directed by Paakhi A Tyrewala. @madhuchopra”

Talking about the movie, Pahuna is the story of three Nepali children who get separated from their parents during the Maoist agitation.

Tyrewala said, “Thirteen years ago when I went to Darjeeling and Gangtok, I realised how easily I was accepted by the people as one of their own. Soon, I forgot that I was a guest and began to see the mountains as my home and that has never changed.”

She further added, “In Pahuna, I wanted to capture not only the beauty of Sikkim but also the beauty of its people. Pahuna is the story of people of Sikkim. My vision is not to take Sikkim to Bollywood, but to bring Bollywood to Sikkim!”

Hats off to Priyanka to take Bollywood to the North-Eastern States. As per reports, the movie will get premiered in Sikkim in October. The poster of Pahuna looks quite adorable.

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra will be seen in Baywatch which has Dwayne Johnson, Johnson aka Rock and Zac Efron. The movie is set to release on June 2nd this year. As per reports, she is also appearing in the drama ‘A Kid Like Jake’ alongside Jim Parsons, Claire Danes and Octavia Spencer. The movie is about gender identity, and reportedly PeeCee is playing the role of a single mother.
