Just one wink and South actress Priya Prakash Varrier became a superstar overnight. One video clip from her upcoming movie ‘Oru Adaar Love’ left behind many stars and in one day her Instagram followers increased to about 606K followers. She became a national crush within few seconds.
But later on, the actress landed into trouble as according to some Muslim youths in Hyderabad, she has hurt the religious sentiments of the community through this song ‘Manikya Malaraya Poovi’. The lyrics used in the song were inappropriate and a complaint was also lodged against the makers and the lyricist. The complaint filed stated that “The song is an old folk song from Kerala which was written in 1978 by Mr. PMA Jabbar and was first sung by Mr. Thalassery Rafeeq, in the praise of the Prophet and his wife Beevi Khadija.”
She was forced to move to Supreme Court and today she took a sigh of relief. Well, lets’ break the suspense. Priya moved to SC to request for the protection from the FIR lodged against her. She even asked the court for the direction to forbid states from taking any criminal proceedings against her. The court has restricted all states from taking any criminal actions against the actress.
