Movies We Love Watching on TV that Were Box Office Disasters!

We all love watching a good film in the cinema hall. But every once in a while there are a few films which we fail to realize as watchable movies and don’t go to the theatres to watch them. It is sad for the producers of the film because they have to bear the losses but for us, we get to see them through another medium, that is, TV! Over the years there have been some films that just did not work at all when they released but have been loved and watched over and over again when they came on TV. Here are the best of them: Sooryavansham If you even have the slightest interest in watching movie channels; especially Sony Max or Zee Cinema, it is literally impossible that you haven't seen this movie at least once. The Amitabh starrer which actually has him doing a double role is played on these two channels at least 5 to 10 times a month, if not more. Obviously, it didn't do wonders at the box office as it was released in that phase when none of Mr Bachchan's movies did well. Yet, when it comes to watching it on TV, I haven't met a person who hasn't seen it! Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander The year was 1992. Aamir Khan was still making his place in the industry as a high-profile actor and so when Mansoor Khan offered him the role of Sanju in his cinematic classic JJWS, it was an offer he couldn't refuse. And the movie had everything in it. Superb storyline, breathtaking climax, emotional sequences and great music by Jatin-Lalit. Still, even though the movie did win the Filmfare for the best movie that year, its performance at the BO was far from satisfactory. But when it arrived on TV it was huge success. I still watch it whenever it comes on TV! Tarzan The Wonder Car I know, I know this isn't really a great film in any respect. But believe me when I say that a lot and I mean a lot of people have seen this movie on TV. When it was released it went completely unnoticed( even though it had an Ajay Devgan special appearance), it has in all Television statistics been regarded as one of the most viewed movies. I have seen it more than once. Have you? Andaaz Apna Apna If I were to tell anyone today that Andaaz Apna Apna was a disaster at the BO, most people would call me stupid and unknowledgeable. But it is a fact that when Rajkumar Santoshi's movie hit the cinemas, there was hardly a soul that dropped in to see it. Over the years AAA has gained enormous cult following and in the eyes of many is the best comedy produced by Bollywood. Its failure at the BO is another comedy in itself.
