One trend that got broadly highlighted and left everyone pretty zapped is the rise and rise of films made on a mediocre budget. It all began with Akira, Sonakshi Sinha’s action turn. An AR Murugadoss film Akira‘s budget was much less than every film that released this month. Apparently made on a budget of 13-15 or, Sonakshi’s film made money. The film opened at Rs 5. 15 cr on its first day and wrapped up with Rs 28. 69 cr. These may not be profound numbers but a film with an actress in the lead has managed to break even which is a feat in itself.
