One trend that got broadly highlighted and left everyone pretty zapped is the rise and rise of films made on a mediocre budget. It all began with Akira, Sonakshi Sinhaās action turn. An AR Murugadoss film Akiraās budget was much less than every film that released this month. Apparently made on a budget of 13-15 or, Sonakshiās film made money. The film opened at Rs 5. 15 cr on its first day and wrapped up with Rs 28. 69 cr. These may not be profound numbers but a film with an actress in the lead has managed to break even which is a feat in itself.
