Deepika Padukone, Virat, Alia Bhatt And Shraddha Wins Big At Instagram Awards

Popular photo sharing platform Instagram introduced Instagram awards for the first time in India. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone bags the “Most Followed Account”, whereas Indian Skipper Virat Kohli bagged the “Most Engaged Account” on Instagram.

As of Tuesday, Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli enjoys a whopping 19.8 million followers on his Instagram. His account got the most number of likes and comments from the content he shared in 2017.

The Instagram awards also recognize the most emerging account and 20 million milestones.

Deepika Padukone took first place in the most followed Instagram account in India with 22.4 million followers, followed by global icon Priyanka Chopra with 22 million followers. Alia Bhatt completed the top 3 spot with 20.8 million followers.

Deepika issued a statement saying, “Staying connected with my fans and loved ones is extremely important to me. I value the love, support and connection I share with them and I hope I continue to remain true and authentic.”

Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter, who is all set for her Bollywood debut opposite Janhvi Kapoor in Dhadak also grabbed one award. He bags “Emerging account” in India for his growing fan base on Instagram in 2017. Ishaan considers Instagram his favorite social media platforms. Talking about the same, he said, “It’s a non-stop source for inspiration from people and personalities all over the world. I find it especially enjoyable because it’s about connecting through pictures and videos. On a more personal note it’s almost like a time machine for your memories and a way to immortalise your favourite moments. Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor received a “milestone plague” for their 20 million milestones.
