Another guest, Zoya Akhtar was being asked about Censor Board. She stressed out the fact that Censor Board’s work is to give the certification, not the chop the film reels. She also says that when she wanted to direct films, stars were not coming on the board, but she didn’t loose hope. She also goes on to talk about the actress who doesn’t want to take the roles of a sister in the films. As per Zoya, the actress is quite selective in terms of their roles and they often reject sister kind of roles in their movies.
The poetic director Imtiaz Ali confessed on the chat show that he has only seen three Bollywood movies in 2016. The first is Udta Punjab, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and Dear Zindagi. Imtiaz, who was recently busy in the shooting for The Ring, says that he give all his focus on his work and he is so engrossed in it that he doesn’t feel like doing anything else. He said, “I like to give my all to my film, have it done and dusted with so that I can move onto my next project and have people talk about that instead.”
On the very chat show, the directors are giving their piece of views on the film critics. Karan confessed that he read all the reviews. Zoya says she reviews only a few films, Imtiaz says he doesn’t read at all. Kabir says he doesn’t seek reviews or even ignore them. The one critic they all agreed to like is Baradwaj Rangan from The Hindu. Karan Johar goes on to say that, he is the best critic in the Bollywood industry.
