Anurag Asati, IT engineer, came up with an idea of Online Kabadiwala. Yes, you read that right! We are all set to receive such services, that too in quite organised e-commerce sector. “One day I was asked to get a kabadiwala home to collect some newspapers. I could not find one because I did not know any nearby. That’s when I thought – would not it be great if this whole process was just a phone call away? and better yet, book online at my convenience?'says Anurag. Process to sell your goodies is way simpler than what you might have thought of. You need to make an online request on their website or send them a message (WhatsApp works, yippee!) and your part is done. Online Kabadiwala will send their employee to your premises on the decided timeslot, to the collect the scrap and will pay you immediately according to the weight and pre-set rates. How simple it's, indeed. At the storehouse, the scrap is segregated according to the category they fall under. Then the scrap's sold to the recyclers for further processing. The scrap collected from different homes goes straight to the storehouses set up by the company is different cities. The storehouses are generally warehouses or rooms rented to store items. The Online Kabadiwala has served more than 10,000 customers and continuing to do so. The company covers total nine cities that include Bhopal, Nagpur, Indore, Kolkata, Gwalior, etc. and plans to expand across Delhi, Mumbai and Chhattisgarh. With a dedicated team of 15-20 scrap collectors in Bhopal alone, the Online Kabadiwala receives 10 to 20 orders each day from each city.
