“Bhumi is new, talented and not over-exposed. She’s busy with ‘Manmarziyan’ as of now, but she has met officials from Bhansali’s team. Let’s hope for the best,” a web portal quoted a source as saying. (Sic) Before Bhansali, the film was being produced by Ashi Dua, who was struggling to cast actors for the primary characters like poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi, writer Amrita Pritam and artist-poet Imroz.
It was earlier reported that Bhansali had finalised Priyanka as the lead actress, but it seems the diva had to reject it for her international projects. Even Deepika has not accepted the offer due to her Hollywood film!
Apart from Deepika and Priyanka, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s name was also doing the rounds. It was reported that Kareena, who had turned down offers of Bhansali’s “Bajirao Mastani” and “Goliyon Ki Rasleela – Ram Leela,” was interested in doing the film since Deepika and Priyanka would be unable to take it up due to their international projects.
Meanwhile, fans are eagerly waiting for the lead actress to be finalised for “Gustakhiyan,” while the lead actor has already been roped in. Irrfan Khan will be seen as Sahir Ludhianvi in it. However, official announcements have not been made yet!
