The film is now confirmed to go on floors in the month of August. The film is special since she plays a prostitute again after Chameli and Talaash, both of which fetched her immense acclaim. Moreover, in Section 84 – a dramatic thriller – she is also playing a schizophrenic, which further brings to fore a new facet of her acting talent.
With the film, director Raj Kumar Gupta would be focusing on Indian Penal Code all over again, after exploring it wonderfully well in No One Killed Jessica. Though he explored a comic territory in his last release Ghanchakkar, with Section 84 he would be stepping into a darker zone all over again.
This isn’t all as the film is written by Ritesh Shah who has to his credit an intense and engaging female-centric drama, Kahaani (with Vidya Balan).
For produers Eros, this is yet another female centric drama for them after NH10 (with Anushka Sharma) earlier this year. Moreover, they are riding high on the All Time Blockbuster success of female centric Tanu Weds Manu Returns, which has just completed 50 days at the Box Office and netted over 50 crore.
All in all, a much anticipated film in the making for sure.
