Kangna Ranaut’s last film Tanu Weds Manu Returns had enjoyed an opening day of 8.75 crore. On the other hand Imran Khan’s last solo hero release, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, had netted around 3 crore. One thing is for sure that Katti Batti would score much bigger than Gori Tere Pyaar Mein!

A lot would depend on the songs though for a bigger total. If the music turns out to be popular before release, there is potential for added footfalls right at the start. Yes, a near 9 crore opening day is tough, especially when you have a hero who is making a comeback of sorts. However, it is not impossible since Kangna has managed to find a very good standing for herself over last few months.

The film’s promo has been liked and it seems that Nikhil Advani has a good musical romcom on cards. While it is a given that 6-7 crore opening day is pretty much on the cards, it won’t be surprising if the film actually manages to do better than Tanu Weds Manu Returns, at least on the first Friday. A lot would depend on multiplex audience for that though, as it is  youngsters visiting these properties whose thumbs up would decide the final outcome for the film.
