#FilmymantraQA – Should Salman Khan try different genres like Talaash, My Name Is Khan or Fan, and show his star power? Or should he stick to Commercial films? [@iamrizkhan8970]
With Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman Khan has now tried that already. The film is as far away as he can get from hardcore masala entertainers, and still deliver a commercially viable film. He has let go of all the strengths that are usually associated with a superstar of his stature, which means a) no quintessential hero-heroine romance, b) no action, c) no comedy, d) no ‘dhaakedaar’ dialogues, e) no item numbers and f) no filmy drama. Still, with an endearing plot and an earnest act, he has managed to pull audience towards himself, and not just registered very good opening (27.25 crore) but also very good reviews and word of mouth.
The film is set to do much-much more than Talaash and My Name Is Khan combined together. If this is not experimenting with different genres and still delivering a huge commercial success, what is?
