19-Yr Old Arrested For Posting Derogatory Comments Against PM Modi on Facebook

Actor Vijay Joseph has recently released his new movie Mersal. This movie has a certain focus on politics. This movie has troubled BJP leaders to a great extent. And not only this, a young person 19 yr old who alleges to be a fan of Vijay has been arrested by a police for posting insulting comments on social media site Facebook.

This movie has a scene in which Vijay slams the government, refering to the recent imposition of GST and the BJP leaders demanded them to deleted that scene from the movie. the cited that the facts have implemented incorrectly. However makers decided not to delete the scene from the movie.

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

The 19 yr old name Thirumurugan has been arrested by cops in Srivilliputhur town on Oct 30and has been sent to jail in Melur. This complaint was filed by K. Marimuthu.

K Marimuthu is a friend of Thirumurugan on Facebook. He had sent him a meme about Mersal which didn’t go well with Thirumurugan and he made some offensive and insulting comments about PM Modi in the private chat. Marimuthu submitted a photograph of the insulting comments made by the youngster on Facebook. Thirumurugan has been booked under Section 505 (public mischief) of CrPC and Section 67 of IT Act, 2000.

Now SP’s statement on this is as follows:

“Both were Facebook friends. When Marimuthu sent Thirumurugan a meme on Facebook Messenger criticizing Vijay’s controversial dialogues in the movie Mersal, Thirumurugan used filthy language in his reply referring to the PM. The conversation in English was photographed by Marimuthu and filed as a complaint.”

He also added- “He has been booked under charges including Section 67 of the IT Act, 2000 and Section 505 (public mischief) of CrPC.”

People should be careful for using such words socially.
