Erica Fernandes: I Grew Up Watching Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Who Knew I Will Play Prerna One Day?

In an exclusive interview with Spotboye, Erica Fernandes who will be soon stepping in Prerna’s shoes for Ekta Kapoor’s Kasautii Zindagii Kay talked at length on how she bagged the role and how she spent her childhood watching Kasautii Zindagii Kay and other K series shows.

Actress gave credit to ‘Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi’ for bagging Kasautii Zindagii Kay, as she feel her performance it was noticed. Erica was quoted saying- “My show (Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi) recently went off air, and I guess my performance in it was noticed. Perhaps it showed my conviction, and that was enough for me to land this one”.

Actress also expressed though she was thrilled while signing on the dotted lines but at the same time she felt pressure too. Kasautii Zindagii Kay’s promo has already created a lot of buzz. There is also a buzz that Ekta is not just trying to re-create the magic but also trying replace the original Kasauti. But the lead, Erica says, “An original will always remain an original. We aren’t trying to replace it, we are bringing it back. It will be relevant to today’s day and age. And I am glad that people are as excited as we all are”.

On being asked if she ever watched Kasauti in her childhood, actress admitted that not only Kasauti but she watched any K series shows while growing up. Actress was quoted saying- “This(Kasauti) was one of the many K series shows that I grew up watching. And little did I know then that I would be a part of it in the near future“.

Talking about Ekta Kapoor’s involvement in her character and the show, Erica said, “She is completely involved in the show, and she has all the reason to be. This show has been very dear to her. She kind of started with it, in a way. This and a few other shows made her so successful, and a name to reckon with. The show was like her baby and now that we are coming back with it, you can imagine the level of excitement from her end. From what I see and know of her, she is diligent, a perfectionist and a visionary and definitely wants everything done perfectly”.

There is a buzz that Kaisi Yeh Yariaan fame Parth Samthaan will play Anurag and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehata Hai fame Hina Khan will play Komolika in the show. Stay tuned with us for more news and updates.
