Diljit Dosanjh Didn’t Promote ‘Phillauri’ On ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ Because of Kapil Sharma!

The Kapil Sharma Show is a go-to place for all stars wanting to promote their movies. Since long, Kapil Sharma has established himself as a brand to reckon with when it comes to stand-up comedy and mimicry. No wonder he is Bollywood’s favorite when it comes to hosting filmy shows! It is a guarantee that Kapil Sharma will give the audience a full-to masti, dhamekedaar experience. So like all her contemporaries, even Anushka Sharma paid a visit on the sets of the Kapil Sharma Show and we got Kapil and Anushka’s pictures from the yet to be aired the episode. But it sure made us curious because the Phillauri star came alone, sans her co-star Diljit Dosanjh. We wondered why.So an entertainment website just got to know the real deal and the reason behind Diljit Dosanjh’s absence. Well, looks like he has nothing to do with it as he was just following what was told to him by the channel Colors where he hosts a reality show Rising Star. We all know about the bitter fall out between Kapil and Colors channel and how he started hosting a show on his rival channel, well so now Diljit has a show on Colors and thereby is bound by their contract. So despite he wanting to go, he could not as per the diktat of the channel management.

So due to the soured relationship between Colors and Kapil, poor Diljit suffered and hence Anushka had to go solo on The Kapil Sharma Show. Raj Nayak of Colors had given his official statement when he fell out with the comedian. He had said,

“Kapil Sharma was on television for over 10 years, first on ‘Laughter Challenge’ and then on ‘Comedy Circus’ before he did ‘Comedy Nights…’ with us. He is a nice person and is extremely talented. We gave him a platform and co-created ‘Comedy Nights…’ with him. It was the channel’s decision to call it ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ (originally the show was to be titled ‘Comedy Nights’), as we felt that it would give him a sense of ownership and his loyalty to the show would be 100 per cent. We even helped him set up his production company. The success of the show meant that we had a person who suddenly became a star and found it difficult to manage his success. He started renegotiating and asking for more money which we gave, but the more important and worrying thing was that he violated his contract by hosting shows on competitive channels in spite of having an exclusive contract with Colors for TV, which we felt was not ethical.”
