‘Dhadak’ proved to be the perfect debut movie for Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. The romantic saga is doing a good business at the box office. On the first day, it collected an amount of Rs 8.71 crore, thereby becoming the highest opening Bollywood film featuring newcomers. It has left behind the first-day collection of ‘Student Of The Year’. It is the remake of Marathi blockbuster ‘Sairat’.

Dhadak is helmed by Shashank Khaitan and produced under the banner of Dharma Productions. Sairat managed to achieve success not only at the box office but it also garnered the best kind of responses from the critics. Dhadak, despite commercial success, failed to get good responses from the critics.
From Bollywood celebs to the public, everyone is all in praise for the young actors. But there was a section of audiences who felt that Dhadak couldn’t recreate the magic of Sairat. On its 7th day, the flick has crossed Rs 50 crore and in the coming days, it is expected to rake in good moolah at the box office. Well, also next month some big movies like ‘Gold’ and ‘Satyamev Jayate’ are hitting the screens. So let’s see how Dhadak performs in the coming days.
