Demonetization Effect: Bollywood Big Movies Of 2016 Get Pushed To 2017!
In an interview to a magazine, Censor Board Chief Mr. Pahlaj Nihalani suggested that producers should shift their release date to 2017 to overcome this problem. He said, “After cash resources dried up, particularly since 10th November, it has been noted most of the recent ticket bookings for cinema at multiplexes are being made via online platforms. However, since a very small amount of the cinema patrons have been using online ticketing platforms for buying cinema tickets, sales via online ticketing sites do not account for more than 20-30 per of capacities in multiplexes. In single screen theaters where attendance is most dependent on cash sales, the daily gross collections have reduced drastically.”
Don’t know about other movies, but Dear Zindagi will be releasing as per scheduled release of November 25. So let’s see what the makers of the other films have to say about this advice.
