Actress Deepika Padukone’s first look from her upcoming film, ‘Chhapaak’ is out. The film ‘Chhapaak’ is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
A photo introduces Padukone as Malti, her face transformed through makeup. Laxmi Agarwal was attacked in Delhi by a 32 year old man, who wanted to marry her, but she continued to reject his advances. Agarwal is now a prominent advocate for the rights of acid attack survivors and campaigns to restrict the sale of acid.
‘Chhapaak’ is being filmed under the directorial vision of Meghna Gulzar of ‘Raazi’ fame, and this is Deepika and Meghna’s first collaboration together. It is being produced by Fox Star Studios and it is set to release on January 10, 2020.
