Crew member dies during the shooting of Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh in Mussoorie
In an unfortunate incident, a crew member from Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh has died during the shooting of the film in Mussoorie. The Padmaavat actor was in Dehradun, Uttarakhand where he was shooting with Kiara Advani on the remake of the Telugu hit film Arjun Reddy. According to Hindustan Times, the deceased Ramu who was responsible for the checking and functioning of the generator being used in the shoot died at a five-star hotel after his muffler got caught and dragged into the fan of the machine.
The makers released a statement this morning confirming about the accident. According to the statement, Kumar was among the local crew and was working with the film’s unit from Dehradun as a generator operator. While checking for the water level in the generator, his muffler got entangled with generator’s fan and in the process he too was pulled in. The victim sustained serious injuries on his head was immediately rushed to the hospital. After battling for his life for a few hours on the ventilator, Kumar passed away.
Kabir Singh is being helmed by Sandeep Vanga, who had directed the original Telugu blockbuster. The film is bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Kishan Kumar and Ashwini Varde. It went on floors on October 21. Earlier in an interview with the same publication, Shahid had mentioned why he chose to do this film. “I usually don’t watch too many films in Telugu and it surprised me with its tonality, rawness, simplicity and the fact that it was so real and believable.
The character is very fascinating for me as an actor because the emotional arc… is very original. I loved it and Vijay Deverakonda, who played Arjun, did it so well,” he had said.
