Netflix CEO Showers Praises On Reliance Jio, His Statement Will Make You Proud

With everything going digital, Netflix has emerged as the most popular OTT platform in the world. It is one platform that has a plethora of options when it comes to streaming movies or TV series or original web series. As the day passes, it is adding more and more subscribers to its list.

Netflix has also managed to make its presence felt in India, all thanks to several original and popular movies and series. However, one major factor in the success of Netflix in India is the cheap internet connection. Just imagine what would have happened if the internet rate was as high as it was when Jio was not launched.

It looks like Netflix CEO Reed Hastings also heaps praise on Jio and called it a transformational network. He said, “It’s going to be a very exciting and competitive market,”

In an interview with Economic Times, Reed Hastings seemed all praise for Reliance Jio and added that all other countries also need to have an amazing network like Jio. A little bit of trivia, Netflix has added 5.9 million subscribers internationally and has added 1.1 million subscribers domestically. It is a really huge number if we consider the fact that Netflix was only launched in India in 2016.

India is a huge market for Netflix, all thanks to massive film industries and stories it has to offer. Several web series like Sacred Games, Selection Day, Bard of Blood and many more are getting lots of praise and accolades.

On being asked about what makes Netflix so popular in India, Hastings said, “nothing more impressive in the world than what Reliance Jio has done in the past four years in India.”

While speaking on censorship on online content, he added, “None of us want strict government regulation on content. We can be flexible and can protect creative freedom a little better if we are a little bit proactive.”

Reliance Jio has indeed played a very important part in the success of Netflix and several other digital OTT platforms. Don’t you agree?
