Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt Starrer ‘Brahmastra’ Postponed, Avoids Clash with ‘Dabangg 3’

The release date of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra has been postponed. The director took to Instagram to share the release date in summer 2020. Earlier, the film was supposed to release in December 2019.

Interestingly, Salman Khan revealed that Dabangg 3 will be released on December 20, 2019. Now the film is delayed to avoid clash with Dabangg 3. Salman shared a poster and wrote, “Chulbul is back….. #Dabangg3 @aslisona @arbaazkhanofficial @nikhildwivedi25 @prabhudheva @skfilmsofficial”

In an open letter, Ayan Mukerji wrote that the VFX teams of the film need more time to get VFX, sound and music right to create the best movie experience. He wrote, “Our release date is now slated for Summer 2020 but we will announce this officially once we are absolute certain of this date.”

A source stated, “There is a more pratical reason. If the film ‘Brahmastra’ doesn’t release in December 2019, it will be mainly because its shooting is likely to go on till October. After this, the thriller will get into the post production, which might be longer because the film is heavily dependent on VFX. In the past, every movie with heavy duty visual effects has had to keep a buffer period due to the nature of the work involved.”
