Quite an important casting! 2) Hum Aapke Hain Kaun If it weren't for Tuffy the dog, the film wouldn't have had a happy ending! So when the Spitz isn't umpiring cricket matches, he is playing a pivotal role in delivering Nisha's message to Rajesh instead of Prem. This iconic dog not only received the blessings of Lord Krishna in the film, but also millions of ultra-emotional Indian movie buffs. 3) Maine Pyar Kiya An entire song addressing a pigeon can only happen in Bollywood. When Bhagyashree pleads the bird to deliver her love letter to Salman Khan, it is the first time the two realise their love for each other. And if you thought that's all the role the pigeon played, well, it even attacked the villain in its climax. Because the same man had once tried to kill the bird. Strong memory, eh? 4) Entertainment Another dog who gave Tuffy tough competition in grabbing attention was Entertainment (yes that's the name of the animal). Actor Akshay Kumar had a special co-star, a huge Golden Retriever, with whom he had to fight to acquire the property of his father. Why? Because the father had pledged all his wealth to the dog! Remember Richie Rich's pet named Dollar? 5) Sholay "Chal Dhanno aaj teri Basanti ki izzat ka sawal hai…" And Dhanno, the ghodi ran so fast that Hema Malini could give the boys of Gabbar a run for their money! From Hema's introduction to her fist scenes with Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan, everything happened on the same tanga. If Jai-Veeru set the first example of bromance in Bollywood, the camaraderie between Dhanno-Basanti gave it a close fight. 6) Haathi Mere Saathi Have you ever seen an elephant getting so attached to a boy that it doesn't just save him from a leopard, but also sheds tears and sacrifices its own life to mend ties between his master and his wife? Well, watch this one! 7) Life Of Pi It was entirely based on the relationship between tiger Richard Parker and a boy named Pi, stranded on a boat in the ocean. It was the highest grossing film of director Ang Lee. Though it was a fantasy drama, and the tiger was created by CGI it managed to scare you, anger you and even make you emotional. The animal made the entire journey on the sea, quite real! 8) Coolie Amitabh Bachchan had the famous dialogue in this one - "Bachpan se hai sar par Allah ka haath, aur Allah Rakha hai mere saath..." Allah Rakha, the eagle was as much a part of this blockbuster as Big B himself, and even saved Big B from the villains. The film's poster with the bird perched on Big B's wrist says it all. 9) Mai Prem Ki Deewani Hu We save the best for the last. The "iconic" film had a CGI generated parrot and an over-active dog, who were enough to steal the limelight from Hrithik and Kareena. They were so loud and dramatic, we were sure the film was a complete mistake. Like master, like pets! 10) Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na Till the film's release, we thought Imran Khan was trying to please Genelia D'Souza who was pissed off after some fight in the Aditi song. Only later did we learn that the entire song revolved around a cat! No wonder both Imran and Genelia called each other Rats and Meow! 11) Katti Batti More than the romance between Imran Khan and Kangana Ranaut, we saw the chemistry between Imran and his turtle. If only he had taken as much care of his lady love as he did for his dear pet. Right? 12) Khoon Bhari Maang When the villain, his partner in crime and even Rekha's kids fail to recognise her after she gets a new face, it is only her animals who manage to do so. Both the dog and the horse appear just at the right moments in the film when the audience needed an extra dose of emotion. Smart pets! 13) Nagin/Nagina Both the films had one ichha-dhari nagin and several actors dancing to her tunes! Both were revenge-dramas and blockbusters of their times. Nagin had Reena Roy and Nagina had Sridevi playing a snake that can change into a human being. Bollywood surely has room for reptiles! Remember "Main teri dushman….. main nagin tu sapera"?
