“Baba Siddique’s Son Zeeshan Shares His Special Bond with Superstars: Shah Rukh Khan as ‘Papa’s Friend’ and Salman Khan as ‘More Than Family'”
Trigger Warning: This article contains mentions of death and threats that could be distressing for some readers.
NCP leader Baba Siddique was known for his strong ties with Bollywood’s biggest stars. His son, Zeeshan Siddique, recently opened up about his special relationship with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, revealing just how deep those bonds run. While Shah Rukh Khan, the beloved “King Khan” of Bollywood, was described as his father’s “friend,” Salman Khan was referred to as more than just a family friend—someone akin to family itself.
In an interview with The Lallantop, Zeeshan was asked about the increased attention on his family’s relationship with Bollywood celebrities, especially Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, after his father’s death. Zeeshan confirmed that these superstars are indeed close to their family, adding, “Salman bhai is more than a family friend. He is like family. Shah Rukh sir is also a family friend; he has been Papa’s friend, but Salman bhai and Papa were childhood friends. Salman bhai is very close.”
Zeeshan shared that even after Baba Siddique’s passing, Salman has been in regular contact, checking in every one or two days to see how the family is coping. “He checks on us, how is the family doing and all that,” Zeeshan said, emphasizing the supportive role Salman has played. Despite their frequent conversations, Zeeshan clarified that they do not discuss the death threats that Salman has received from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. He noted that for him, a friend of his father is more like a “Chacha (Uncle).”
When asked why he calls Salman “bhai” instead of “Chacha,” Zeeshan explained that it’s due to Salman’s larger-than-life persona, making the term “Chacha” feel awkward, even though he treats him as an uncle.
Zeeshan was also questioned about the potential involvement of these Bollywood giants in his political campaigns. He explained that he and his father always kept their personal and political lives separate. However, he mentioned that if anyone from the film industry wishes to support their campaign, they are more than welcome. He acknowledged that many celebrities prefer to avoid political associations, and they never wanted to put anyone in a difficult position by asking for public support.
Baba Siddique, known for hosting grand Iftaar parties and famously mending the rift between Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, left a legacy of camaraderie. In a prior interview with BBC Hindi, Zeeshan shared that Salman has been deeply affected by their loss, even experiencing sleepless nights to ensure their well-being.
