AR Rahman Is Back Again In The Oscar Race, Thanks To His Contribution In ‘Pele’
In the year 2011, he had again received two nominations for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards for his original score in Boyle’s 127 Hours as well as original song “If I Rise” for the same movie.Unfortunately, he couldn’t receive the golden statuette.
Rahman hits again, his name is being featured in a long list of 145 scores in contention for a nomination in the Original Score category for the 89th Academy Awards. His work for “Pele: Birth of a Legend” has again found a spot on the list of Oscar competitors this year.
The song “Ginga” from his biographical film that was made in 2016, is in the Oscar race too.The song is now a part of the long list of 91 songs. The song will be competing for a spot in the final nominations for the Original Song category.
Both the categories of the song list will be released by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on its official website and the final nominations for the 89th Academy Awards will be announced on January 24.
