Very few films in history of cinema have witnessed a journey like Andaz Apna Apna. From losing money at the box-office, the film went on to become the biggest cult comedy film of our times.
The 1994 classic, starring Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor is still making fans laugh as it continues to be on people’s ‘watch anytime’ list. Although fans have been yearning for a sequel for a long time now, the project simply kept getting delayed. But, after years of waiting, we now know for certain that the sequel is finally happening.
According to sources, the film will be co-produced by Preeti Sinha and Phantom Films and either Vikas Bahl (Queen) or Vikramaditya Motwane (Udaan) will helm the project. Phantom Films acquired the remake rights from Preeti Sinha, daughter of producer Vinay Sinha.
But, there’s also some bad news. The classic will go on floors by year end with an all new cast. Which means, there’s no saying if the new actors will be able to connect with audiences the same way Amar-Prem, Robert, Teja, Raveena, Karishma and Crime Master Gogo did.
The script, written by Vivek Soni and Hardik Mehta, is already in place and the makers will soon start finalizing the actor’s for the film’s lead roles.
