Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi, who played the lead role in 2013 courtroom drama Jolly LLB, has said the producers wanted a “bigger star” for the sequel. Akshay Kumar stepped into Warsi’s shoes for its sequel ‘The State VS Jolly LLB 2’. He also said that the makers would have been compelled to make a good movie had they cast him. “I am not doing it (Jolly LLB 2). Akshay is doing it. I was supposed to do it, but Fox Star Studios needed a bigger star, so they chose Akshay,” Arshad said.He admitted that he was a slightly bothered, but added casting a star like Akshay is less of a risk for the movie makers. “It makes it easier for marketing, to have a hit. With me, they (filmmakers) have to make a good film, so that is the problem. You can make money with me only if it’s a very good film. If you have a bigger star, then even if the film is not that good, you still manage to cover the money so risk factor from the producer’s point of view is less,” Arshad said.

“Yeah it bothers me a little bit, but not that much. I always believe that you do what you deserve to or what you should. I was the one who convinced Subhash to go ahead and do it because he was not willing to. I said Akshay is a damn good actor and he will give you what you want. He has got the capability of converting him (Akshay) from a muscular macho man to an ordinary man to get beaten up and it will work like magic. Even he (Subhash Kapoor) gets more money to work and life becomes easier for him,” Arshad said.
‘The State vs Jolly LL.B 2’ or commonly known as simply ‘Jolly LL.B 2’ which released today belongs to the satirical black comedy-drama genre of film and is written and directed by Subhash Kapoor. A sequel to the 2013 film Jolly LLB,[2] the film also stars Huma Qureshi, Saurabh Shukla and Annu Kapoor in lead roles. A courtroom drama which satirises the notion of the Indian legal system, the story follows Jagdishwar Mishra (Kumar), a lawyer who fights a case against the ruthless and powerful lawyer Sachin Mathur (Kapoor).
