Akshay Kumar gets to romance for the first time in 2015 with Singh Is Bliing

The promos of Singh Is Bliing are on and it is quite clear that the Prabhu Dheva directed affair is a quintessential romantic family entertainer of Akshay Kumar after a really long time. Each of his three films this year, be it Baby, Gabbar Is Back or Brothers, has been largely aimed at male members of the audiences. With these being high testosterone affairs, the year has been dominated by kicks, punches and blood.

However, for his out and out family entertainer Singh Is Bliing, Akshay Kumar is taking a song and dance route, something that has been visible in the promo and now the latest number ‘Singh aur Kaur’.

“In Baby, he just had a couple of blink-and-you-would-miss scenes with Madhurima Tuli and didn’t have a single song to his name. In Gabbar Is Back, there wasn’t really a romantic track per se with Shruti Haasan and a solitary song with Kareena Kapoor Khan came in the background. Recently in Brothers too there was a montage sequence with Jacqueline Fernandez,” comments an observer.

“He was shown as a married man in each of his films, which by default reduced the scope of quintessential ‘naach gaana’ affair with his leading ladies. Thankfully, this would happen now in Singh Is Bliing since he is wooing Amy Jackson here,” he adds.

No wonder, the song-n-dance affairs would fill in a good part of the promotional campaign in the month of September. The ‘jodi’ of Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson is anyways brightening the screen and with a lot more to be unveiled in weeks to come, a family bonanza is pretty much on the cards once the film releases all over on 2nd October.
