Ajay Devgn’s ‘Baadshaho’ opens at Rs 12.03 crore nett

Ajay Devgn‘s highly awaited film ‘Baadshaho’ has released and as per the expectations, the movie has managed to open on a great note at the Box-Office.

Despite getting mixed reviews, the movie earned INR 12.03 crore on its opening day.

Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta had given an average review of the film and had said, “The women are decorative. D’Cruz is togged out in regal chiffons, one of which remains spotless through the long proceedings. Her make up stays intact too. Gupta’s role (she hangs out with the three ‘khazana chors’) seems to have been created simply to include a second pretty face. But we don’t blink because we know these are all masala movie imperatives.”

With this, the film has become Ajay’s highest opener after ‘ Singham Returns‘.

Baadshaho‘, which released across 2800 screens, beat this week’s other release, Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘ Shubh Mangal Saavdhan‘ on the first day.

‘Baadshaho’ which is a thriller set in the emergency of 1975, sees the stars giving their best to bring their character to life. Ileana, who is essaying the role of Maharani Gitanjali Devi, one of the aristocrats of Rajasthan’s Princely States who has already lost her privy purse to the government. In order take back the wealth which belongs to her, she seeks help from her trusted lieutenant, Bhawani to step in and plan a heist which is played by Ajay Devgn, who is later joined by Dalia (Emraan Hashmi), Sanjana (Esha Gupta), Tikla (Sanjay Mishra) and Seher (Vidyut Jammwal) to execute the plan.

The Amulti starrer is the 8th biggest opening day grosser of the year with ‘Bahubali 2: The Conclusion’ still dominating the box-office record with a collection of Rs 40.73 crore.

The flick is about four people who are on a mission to recover a heavily armored truck full of Rajput queen Gitanjali Devi‘s undisclosed jewels from the Army.

Apart from the star studded cast, actress Sunny Leone has also made a cameo in the song ‘Piya More’.
