He got his real stardom in year 2013 in which he did two big movies of his career Aashiqui 2 and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani both the movies are blockbusters at the box office. In one he played lead and in another one he played second lead. Film Aashiqui 2 made him overnight star in Bollywood and girls got made about him for his performance as a alcoholic rockstar. After these two hit movie he did only two movies playing lead Fitoor and Dawat-e-ishq and both the film failed to do at the box office.
