Earlier we reported that Aditya was arrested by Versova police for allegedly ramming his car into an auto rickshaw which inured the driver and passenger at Lokhandwala Complex in Andheri. Finally Aditya Narayan has now issued a public statement in which he explained what exactly happened that day.
He explained that around 12:30 pm he left home for Andheri in his Mercedes Benz car. Near Lokhandwala circle he saw an auto-rickshaw approaching at a high side from the opposite direction.
“I expected him to slow down at the junction, but he didn’t brake and took a right turn… I swerved on the left to avoid him and hit the auto-rickshaw on the side, causing it to topple over twice,” Aditya said.
A crowd was gathered around the victim but no one stepped-in to help the victim. Later the auto-rickshaw driver helped to take the two victims to the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital which was nearby.
Further Aditya elaborated saying that he called the lady’s (Surekha Ankush Shivekar) boss from her phone and informed about the same. He said- “From the lady’s mobile phone, I could call up her boss in a beauty parlour where she works and they got in touch with Shivekar’s brother and they all turned up at the hospital.”
Aditya Narayan also said in his statement that he is bearing all medical expenses too.
“I have decided to bear the full medical expenses of the injured victims, including the widow Shivekar, who is likely to be discharged today. The auto-rickshaw driver’s treatment is likely to continue,” he said.
The recent reports suggest that Aditya was charged under Section 337 of Motor Vehicles Act — “no other offences” — and fined around Rs 10,000 post which the bail was granted.
