Abhishek Bachchan on Finding Positivity Amid Negativity

Abhishek Bachchan, who recently delivered a notable performance in *I Want To Talk*, opened up about maintaining positivity and staying true to his values despite life’s challenges. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film explores the story of a man dealing with limited time but chooses to focus on joy and hope rather than despair.

In an interview, Abhishek emphasized the importance of persistence (*dridhta*) and remaining grounded in one’s fundamental beliefs. He shared his personal mantra: *“Jab bura apni buraai na chhode toh accha apni acchai kyun chhode?”* (If the bad doesn’t stop being bad, why should the good stop being good?). This philosophy, he said, drives him to focus on positivity and avoid being consumed by negativity.

Abhishek reflected on how easy it is to feel overwhelmed by life’s darkness. He believes that finding a “silver lining” can serve as a powerful motivation to move forward. Comparing this to his role in *I Want To Talk*, he appreciated Sircar’s choice to create a lighthearted, uplifting film from an emotional premise. The actor remarked, “No matter how tough the obstacle may be, find the ray of hope and the reason to say, ‘Okay, I’m going to do it.’”

He also spoke about staying authentic, sharing, “I cannot change the person I am.” For Abhishek, standing firm in one’s beliefs is essential to earning respect. He expressed that if he were to become a “leaf in the wind,” easily swayed by negativity, he would lose his sense of solidity and identity.

*I Want To Talk*, produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar, is a slice-of-life film that blends humor with profound themes about hope and resilience. Abhishek’s heartfelt performance has earned widespread acclaim, reinforcing his commitment to meaningful storytelling. Currently running in theaters, the film serves as both entertainment and a poignant reminder to find light amid darkness.
