Since this morning, a photograph of actress Charmi weeping uncontrollably during the IIFA Utsavam ceremony has been making several rounds on the internet. Actress Shriya was seen consoling Charmi. Rumors were rife that Charmi broke into tears after her live performance was cancelled in the last minute.

When probed further, our close sources revealed the real reason behind Charmi’s emotional outburst. Apparently, Devi Sri Prasad, who won the Best Music Director award at IIFA Utsavam, performed the Nannaku Prematho title song, which he conceived and composed as a tribute to his late father and popular writer Satya Murthy.

DSP’s heart-touching performance moved the guests and especially Charmi, who broke into tears recollecting her close association with DSP’s father. Charmi was also the first to fly down to Chennai to be with DSP’s family after Satya Murthy passed away in December last year.
