Lets have a look at some of the best movies of Shahrukh Khan, the king of Bollywood, who is one of the most versatile actors in Indian Cinema. Having acted in over 70 films and different genres, SRK has earned his name and fame all by himself. The amount of hard work he puts into his films is clearly seen on screen. It’s no surprise that Shahrukh Khan is the most-awarded Bollywood actor of all times (along with Dilip Kumar) in the category of best actor, with eight Filmfare Best Actor trophies in his kitty.

 

BAAZIGAR (1993)

Shahrukh Khan played a murderer in the 1993 film Baazigar. A pure thriller, which talks about a young man who doesn’t compromise one bit to get what he wants. The film was inspired by the novel A Kiss Before Dying. Shahrukh won the Filmfare trophy in the best actor category, that year.

DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE (1995)

This 1995 love story created history, becoming one of the biggest Bollywood hits ever. The film also established SRK-Kajol as Indian cinema’s most loved on-screen couple. DDLJ won 10 Filmfare Awards and also the National Award for being the most popular film of the year. The film is still playing at the Maratha Mandir theatre in Mumbai.

DIL TO PAGAL HAI (1997)

The lover boy Shahrukh yet again proved himself with the 1997 blockbuster DTPH. He won the Filmfare best actor award. The story focuses on three different characters and their beliefs on love. While one does not believe in love, the other believes that someone is made for everyone and the third character believes that love is friendship.

DEVDAS (2002)

The 2002 Devdas is one of the most expensive Bollywood films ever produced. SRK played a loser lover fantastically well. He even won the Filmfare award in the best actor category, that year. The film was recently included in Time Magazine’s top 10 films of the millennium worldwide.

KAL HO NAA HO (2003)

The film talks about a girl who falls in love with a terminally ill patient, who also loves her but cannot do anything about it as he is aware of his sickness, and so he tries to play a matchmaker for her and their common friend. SRK’s performance was simply incredible, making him win yet another Filmfare award.

VEER-ZAARA (2004)

An extremely romantic story between Veer Pratap Singh, an Indian, and Zaara Hayaat Khan, a Pakistani. In the across border movie, SRK portrayed a 60 year old man.

DON (2006)

The film stars Shahrukh Khan in double role. This role transformed SRK into the new age Don and was appreciated by the audience. A sequel to the film, titled Don 2 was released on 23 December 2011.

CHAK DE INDIA! (2007)

A very inspirational story about an expelled national hockey player who puts in all his efforts to coach the Indian women’s hockey team and win the World Cup. The film goes deeper into sexism in contemporary India through field hockey. Chak De India received the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

MY NAME IS KHAN (2010)

Shahruk Khan essays the role of a Muslim man, who suffers from the Asperger syndrome. He is desperate to convey to the US President that all Muslims are not terrorists. The film was shot in the backdrop of 9/11 in America. This role earned SRK the Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

JAB TAK HAI JAAN (2012)

Another awesome performance by the king Khan, JTHJ sees the actor as a major in the Indian Army, who defuses bombs showing no fear or regard for personal safety. The movie collected Rs 150.41 crores from the collection centres in India and other parts of the globe in 10-day-extended first week.
