Harresh Mehta’s SBI Loan Fraud Case: CBI Allegations and Bail Proceedings

Harresh Mehta has denied having any involvement in transactions between Rajput Retails and SBI.

Mumbai-based real estate developer Harresh Navnitrai Mehta, who serves as the chairman of Rohan Developers, also known as Rohan Lifescapes, has been granted bail by the Special CBI Sessions Court in Thane in connection with a case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation’s Economic Offences Branch (CBI EOB), Mumbai.

Special CBI Court Judge Amit Shete passed the bail order on Monday, directing that Mehta be released on the execution of a personal bond and a security bond amounting to ₹5 lakh. The court’s order states that Mehta, who was arrested in connection with the FIR registered by the CBI EOB in Mumbai, can be released after furnishing a personal bond of ₹5 lakh along with one or more solvent sureties of an equivalent amount.

The bail has been granted subject to the terms and conditions laid down by the court. The release order, accessed by The Indian Express, formally records the court’s direction for Mehta’s release following compliance with the specified bond requirements.

Mehta is a prominent Mumbai-based real estate developer and heads Rohan Developers (Rohan Lifescapes). His bail comes in the backdrop of the CBI investigation into the case, with the court’s order specifically referring to the FIR registered by the agency’s Economic Offences Branch in Mumbai.
