Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are appearing in a biopic of all-rounder cricketer Kapil Dev impressed all by making India proud by winning first world cup in 1983. The stunning and popular duo of Bollywood with her first look as Romi Dev, the wife of cricket legend Kapil Dev, in the upcoming biopic ‘83 is out and fans are going gaga all over them.
Deepika in a short layered hair in a turtle neck top paired with a pleated skirt, Deepika looks like a spitting image of Romi. Sharing the image that also featured Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, the actress said that the film is inspiring to every woman who put her husband’s dream before her own.

Deepika captioned the picture, “To be able to play a small part in a film that captures one of the most iconic moments in sporting history has been an absolute honor.
I’ve seen very closely the role a wife plays in the success of her husband’s professional and personal aspirations in my mother and 83 for me in many ways is an ode to every woman who puts her husband’s dream before her”.
The look is really stunning also resembled the photo with the original Kapil and Romi. “Just wow,” a Twitter user captioned a photo that saw the striking similarities between the film still and a throwback photo of Kapil and Romi.

Speaking about Deepika coming on board for the film, director Kabir Khan shared, “I have always thought of Deepika as a phenomenal actress and when I was thinking of casting for Romi Dev’s role, I could only think of her. Romi has disarmingly charming and positive energy and Deepika has captured that with perfection.”
“Her easy chemistry with Ranveer will also greatly help in portraying the relationship that Kapil Dev and Romi share. I’m delighted that Deepika has been such an integral part of our journey for ’83’,” he added.
The biggest sports film of the year, it will also feature Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Jiiva as K. Srikkanth and many more.
