Finally, the verdict of 20-year old blackbuck poaching case was declared yesterday and the heartthrob of millions Salman Khan was found guilty. He got a 5-year jail term along with Rs 10,000 penalty. Though it is very sad, no one is above law. He was charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act of the Indian Penal Court. Other actors like Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Sonali Bendre and Tabu were also accused of the poaching case but they were let off by the court.
He is Quidi No 106 and is in barrack no. 2, a cell next to godman Asaram who was accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in 2013. Yesterday night Salman was in front of the police officers pronouncing his verdict. The Jodhpur Session court heard the bail plea on Friday but it has been kept the decision on hold.
After the verdict, he was taken to the Jodhpur Central Jail. The cell where he is kept has no cooler or AC and the cell is like a normal prison. Vikram Singh, the jail superintendent said “Salman will be treated as a normal prisoner and no special treatment will be given to him. He will have a simple wooden bed, a rug and a cooler in his cell.”
“He was given normal jail diet like Dal chapatti and the morning meal will include simple khichdi,” said Vikram Singh. He was served tea and khichdi for breakfast but the actor reportedly refused to have it.
According to Singh Salman had a blood pressure issue when he went inside the jail and after the check-up his blood pressure was normal.
