We know what happened the last time Anushka Sharma donned the hat of producer. She came out with a powerful performance and a power packed film NH10. The actress though did not won many awards, but collected huge appreciation from all quarters for her performance. So when the actress is once again turning producer for the movie Phillauri, there are high expectations. Phillauri will be releasing in March 2017. The film is in it’s post production stage and is gearing up for release.
Anushka Sharma will be playing a lead in the film and Udta Punjab fame Diljit Dosanjh will be playing the male lead opposite her. Among other actors we have Suraj Sharma who shot to fame from the Anglo Indian film Life of Pi. Suraj will be seen romancing the pretty Punjabi actress Mehreen Pirzada. The trailers of the movie are released and Anushka has herself posted the news of its release in March on twitter. The actress said, “ It will be a colorful ride, I promise.”
Anushka is very confident about the release of the film. In the movie she will be playing the role of a ghost with whom Diljit Dosanjh’s character will fall in love. In the posters and trailers, she is looking truly beautiful and a Punjabi village girl to the T.
Phillauri is produced by Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Sharma. It is directed by newcomers Anshai Lal and Akashdeep Purba. The story is set in the small town Phillaur and the residents of the place are known as Phillauri. According to the latest reports the film’s release date has been finalized and it is 31 March 2017.
