‘M.S Dhoni-The Untold Story’ is 3 hours long movie and with an over exaggerated screenplay. No doubt, the film is a complete entertainment drama for the audience but it did have some major loopholes. Yes, we are talking about the 7 big mistakes in ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’, which you surely missed while watching the movie. We are not blaming here Sushant Singh Rajput, but it looks like director Neeraj Pandey research work is not 100 percent apt as per Dhoni’s real life.
Here are the 7 Mistakes in MS Dhoni Biopic:
- Dhoni’s brother Narendra Singh Dhoni:
Yes, you will find Dhoni and his friends in the movie. But, you will not see his brother Narendra Singh Dhoni even in the single frame. Well, all we have witnessed in the movie is Dhoni’s father played by Anupam Kher, Dhoni’s mother and sister. Don’t know why the makers have not included his brother in this important biopic?
- Dhoni and Priyanka’s first meeting:
Dhoni’s first real life love affair is truly different from what it has been shown on the Silver screen. In real life, Dhoni met late Priyanka Jha in 2002 whereas in the film they met in 2005. At a time when Dhoni is returning from Pakistan, he met Priyanka aka Disha Patani (film) on a flight. In real life, Dhoni met Priyanka in his 20s but in reel life, they showed something very different!
- Scripted Endorsements just for the promotional purposes:
Here’s another trick that the director Neeraj Pandey played with the genuine Dhoni’s fans. In the flick, Dhoni does some advertisement with the proper brand name visible on it. Yes, he endorsed Lava Mobiles which is apt but he never endorsed Sanjay Ghodawat Institute and Finolex Pipes in his real life. So, this is the promotional stuff from the director’s side!
- Misplacement of Dhoni’s LAVA brand endorsement:
As I said that Dhoni has actually endorsed Lava brands in real life. So it is quite justified that Sushant endorses the brand in reel life. But, the director fails to justify the year, as Lava smartphones were launched in 2009 and in the film it showed in 2008. So, that’s another blunder from the maker’s side.
- Fishes Don’t Cost Rs. 90 Kg In 90’s ?
Here’s another silly mistake that you will notice in the movie. In few of the scenes during the movie, Dhoni’s Coach (Rajesh Sharma) was often visible with his wife at the fish market. His wife asks the cost of the fish, the fisherman says 90 Rs / Kg. Well, in the 90’s the cost of the fish would be like Rs. 15 Kg- 20 Kg. So, that’s yet another major mistake in Dhoni’s Biopic. Do You agree?
- Dhoni and Sakshi’s first meeting Wrongly Depicted:
In the film, Dhoni met Sakshi Singh Rajput at a reception of Taj Bengal Hotel. In reality, Dhoni and Sakshi have completed their studies from the same school. Even their Fathers do work in the same company ‘MECON’. In reality, the duo was introduced by a common friend Yudhajit Dutta in 2008, while Sakhi was doing her internship at the hotel. In the film, the whole sequence is differently scripted!
- Dhoni’s invisible helmet in the World Cup Match
In one of the end scene in the movie, Dhoni hit’s a six on Muralitharan’s bowling. While hitting the six, he was shown in wearing a helmet but just before that scene, he was wearing a cap. That’s a funny mistake and I bet, you haven’t noticed.
