After Kajol’s refusal to the movie, the role was offered to Karisma Kapoor, with co-stars Nana Patekar, Sanjay Kapoor, and Shahrukh Khan in a supportive role. Karisma was highly appreciated for her acting displayed in the movie. Dil To Pagal Hai: Kajol also missed to act in the biggest musical hit of the year, Dil To Pagal Hai.
