7 Highest Grossing Films From The First Half Of 2017

It’s June end and half of the year has passed and many Bollywood movies got released in the first six months. There are many movies which have taken the box office by storm while there are movies that have dipped at the box office. Let us take you through the collection of the films from the first half of 2017. Let’s start from the latest release Tubelight that released on 23rd June this year.

1. Tubelight

Box office collection: Rs 106.86 crore

Salman Khan’s Tubelight got released on 23rd June 2017 and unlike Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Tubelight dimmed at the box office as it collected only Rs 21.15 crore on its first day. Till now it has minted only Rs 106.86 crore.

2. Hindi Medium

Box office collection: Rs 68.76 crore

Hindi Medium has proved that a low budget film too can earn a good amount. The movie has not only good storyline but it is one of the most inspiring films.

3. Badrinath Ki Dulhania

Box office collection: Rs 107.69 crore

The chemistry of Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt created magic at the box office. This rom-com has a socially driven storyline and it has won audiences’ heart with its music and story.

4. Jolly LLB 2

Box office collection: Rs 116.92 crore

The sequel failed to earn as much as the prequel but Rs 116.92 is a decent collection.

5. Kaabil

Box office collection: Rs 130.27 crore

The collection could have been better but due to its clash with SRK’s Raaes, the movie made a lifetime collection of Rs 130.27 crore.

6. Raees

Box office collection: Rs 137.51 crore

Though it clashed with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil, it earned more than the latter. Also, Raees got more screens than Kaabil.

7. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

Box office collection: Rs 510.18 crore

SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 broke all the records and minted Rs 510.18 crore and globally it has crossed Rs 1000 crore. The movie released in more than 8000 screens across India.
