7 Flop Bollywood Actors Who Turned Successful Directors
Bollywood is a big industry, but it is also very harsh and competitive. It is one place, where if you give few flops, your career is destroyed. Several people come in the industry to become an actor, but not everyone enjoys success. Today, we are going to talk about some flop actors, who ended up as very successful directors.
1. Arbaaz Khan
Arbaaz Khan made his Bollywood debut as a lead actor but failed to make an impression. He went on to play supporting roles in many films. However, he found success as producer and director. He turned producer with ‘Dabangg’ and director from its sequel ‘Dabangg 2’. Both of the films are blockbuster.
2. Rakesh Roshan
Rakesh Roshan has acted in many films in the 70s and 80s. However, his acting career went nowhere. He turned director with Khudgarz in 1987. Since then, he has given several blockbusters like Karan Arjun, Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai, Koi Mil Gaya among others.
3. Jugal Hansraj
Jugal Hansraj has also played lead roles in many films but failed to make an impact on moviegoers. His acting career was so flopped that people from the industry started saying that he gets launched every year. After numerous attempts in acting, he became a director. He made his directorial debut with Roadside Romeo and also directed Pyaar Impossible.
4. Ashutosh Gowarikar
Ashutosh Gowaikar is one of the finest directors in the country. He has given films like Lagaan and Jodhaa Akbar as director. However, he also tried his hands in acting. He has appeared in many films as an actor.
5. Pooja Bhatt
Pooja Bhatt has appeared in many films as a lead actress. Some of her films like Sadak and Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin are super hit too, but she disappeared from films pretty soon. However, she tasted success when she returned as a director with films like Paap and Jism 2 among others.
6. Abhishek Kapoor
He is known for directing critically and commercially successful films like Rock On and Fitoor. Before becoming a director, he made his Bollywood debut as an actor in ‘Uff! Yeh Mohabbat’ opposite Twinkle Khanna. However, the movie bombed at the box office and so is his acting career.
7. Subhash Ghai
Subhash Ghai is inarguably one of the most acclaimed directors in Bollywood. He has given numerous blockbuster films including Khalnayak. Before becoming a director, he wanted to be an actor. This might be the reason, we see him doing a cameo in all of the films he has directed.
Nevertheless, we are not complaining either, after all, we would have missed some awesome movies.
