Gal Gadot is now world’s biggest female superhero and she has garnered lots of appreciations from the critics as well as audiences for her performance in the movie. The 32-year-old actress was not well known but Wonder Woman has made her famous overnight. Today we are going to tell you some unknown facts of this wonderful Israeli actress.
1. Gadot won the Miss Israel beauty pageant at the age of 18. Later on, she went to participate in Miss Universe in 2004, but she didn’t want to win the competition. So she knowingly wore the wrong dress, went late for the event and pretended that she couldn’t speak English.
2. Gadot was a combat instructor in the Israel Defense Forces for two years.
3. She gave a stunning performance as Gisele in Fast & Furious and performed her own stunts.
4. Gadot was not aware of her role of Wonder Woman even after giving an audition. Two weeks later she found out that she bagged the role.
5. For the role of Wonder Woman, she was trained in Kung Fu, kickboxing, swordsmanship, capoeira and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
6. Gal Gadot was born in Rosh Ha’ayin. The meaning of her first name is ‘wave’ and her surname means ‘riverbanks’. After serving the army she went to study law and international relations.
7. Before the Israeli premiere of the movie, the Azrieli Center in Tel Aviv was lit up to honour the actress. The tower had a message, “We are proud of you, Gal Gadot, our Wonder Woman.’’
