5 Movies That Depicted the Brutality of Terrorists and Terrorist Attacks

Bollywood has seen a variety of films inspired by true stories and situations. Terrorism is one of the crucial issues faced across the world and hence, many Bollywood films have their plots based on terrorist attacks. Some of these films are truly hard hitting and make us witness the brutality during these attacks. Specially today when Mumbai blast convict has been hanged we try to bring you the list of films which had actors playing the terrorists involved in the attacks. 1. Black Friday Director Imtiaz Ali played the role of Yakub Memon, convicted in the 1993 Mumbai blasts. Released in 2004, Black Friday revolves around the true story of Mumbai blasts of 1993, which killed over 300 people. The film is shown through the perspective of victims as well the terrorists who were involved in the brutal attacks. The films shows the viewers how a terrorist attack or any other violent event has an effect on the lives of the characters. 2. The Attacks of 26/11 The role of Ajmal Amir Kasab was played by Sanjeev Jaiswal. Directed by Ram Gopal Verma, this movie is based on the 26/11 terrorist attacks which took place in Mumbai. Most of the scenes of the attacks at places like The Taj Mahal palace, Café Leopold, Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Cama Hospital were recreated in the movie. The movie powerfully portrays the perspective of the eight terrorists who sailed to the coasts of Mumbai in order to execute the attacks and also throws a light on the efforts of Mumbai Police. 3. Tere Bin Laden Pradhuman Singh played the role of Osama Bin Laden, Al-Qaeda chief. This a satire comedy film directed by Abhishek Sharma, starring Pakistani Singer Ali Zafar and Pradhuman Singh in the lead roles. The movie is about America’s war against terror and the actual reality of the aftermath of 9/11 attacks. The movie is about how Ali Zafar find’s Bin Laden’s look alike and makes a fake video with a hope of getting famous because of his desperation to work as a journalist in America. 4. Parzania Azhar Mody’s role played by Parzan Pithawala. The title meaning ‘Heaven and Hell on Earth’, Parzania is a Rahul Dholakia directorial starring Naseeruddin Shah and Sarika in the lead roles. The film is set against the plot of Gujarat Riots of 2002. It is inspired by a true story of a 10 year old boy named Azhar Mody (Parzaan Pithawala in the film), who went missing on 28th February 2002 during the Gulbarg society massacre where 69 people were killed. The film takes us through the journey of his family in search of him. 5. Madras Cafe Ajay Rathnam played the role of Velupillai Prabhakaran, chief of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). Directed by Shoojit Sircar starring John Abraham, Nargis Fakhri and Rashi Khanna in lead roles, this 2013 film is based on the Indian intervention in Sri Lankan Civil war followed by events like assassination of Late. Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India. This spy thriller brings us closer to the political history of India and also throws a light on the ideologies on which Rebel groups operated. All these movies were brilliant without any doubt and the execution of the films gave justice to the plots.
