5 Big Things To Know About Rock On 2

Bollywood's upcoming flick 'Rock On 2' is one of the most anticipating films of the year. Soon after the teaser released online, it went viral and fans are again excited for this musical sequel. Down the lanes, the first film 'Rock On' was released in 2008 and became a supreme hit at the Box-Office. The raw concept of a Rock On band in Indian movie sent a fresh wave among the youth in India and the film turned into a cult classic. At latest, the star cast of 'Rock On 2' went live on Facebook to chat with their fans and talk more about the movie. Here are the 5 big things the star cast revealed about 'Rock On 2': 1. Why is the Film releasing after 8 years? This answer is replied by Arjun Rampal, "We always thought we are gonna do it earlier. But, we didn’t know what the right story was. Every year we thought it’s gonna happen next year but we never got down getting the script. I’m glad we waited.” Farhan paused Arjun and utters, "Possibly the easiest things to do would be that once you have enjoyed the success of a film you decide quickly to go and make a second one. But it’s important to give you all out there, who were waiting for the sequel, something really memorable, something you gonna enjoy. That is a responsibility and we can’t take that lightly. So that’s why it took so long." 2. What makes Rock On 2 different? This time, Purab Kohli takes the command and said, "It’s different in terms of that it’s a new film.It’s a new story but it’s a continuing journey of these characters plus Shraddha and Shashank, who have joined the band. So there’s all that and there’s some great music to look forward to. There are some amazing concerts to look forward to. It’s a very moving story. I think it was surprising for people even with Rock On 1 was they didn’t realize that a film about music could have that kind of emotional depth and so many layers of characters. And I feel it has grown a lot since then. There is more history with these characters. And that is something to look forward to. Like where are these characters 8 years down the line." 3. What's your favorite song from this movie ? Arjun explains, "Mine is Jago. There’s a great track called Jago. Actually, all the tracks are great but Shankar Ehsaan Loy have just nailed it (Jago) with Farhan and even Shraddha. Jago is one song that has great energy, it has been shot beautifully." Even Purab added that he liked 'Jago', 'Woh Jahaan' and 'Ek Manzar Naya'. Soon Farhan took the charge of the conversation and said, "It’s tough to pick one but the one that resonates most with me is the Woh Jahaan track. Lyrically I love that song. But, of course Jago is one song that is close to all of us as it’s on women empowerment." The 'Jago' song will be out on September 14. 4. What New Characters are doing in the film ? In the earlier flick, Rob Nancy (Luke Kenny)played keyboard and base. In this movie, the job is divided into the band and handled by Shraddha Kapoor as Keyboard player and Shashank Arora as a plain base player. 5. The old actors are still retained in the film ? Farhan said, "Joe (played by Arjun Rampal) hasn’t divorced yet. So Debbie is very much a part of this film. It’s not a very large part but it’s a very very important part." Arjun now starts saying, "Whatever scenes are there they are very special. She has got a great energy and there was no way we could do Rock On 2 without her. So yes you will see her (Debbie aka Shahana Goswami) but not as much as you saw her in Rock On."
