Movie: Udta PunjabWhile talking to media, Alia Bhatt revealed that shooting for gang rape scene was way too much emotional and challenging for her. While shooting for that scene, She just wanted to get done with that scene and go home. She also said that she was very traumatized after filming that scene.

ALia bhatt said,

“I took a few workshops to get the right body language. Like, I move my hands and roll my eyes a lot while speaking but these people (in villages) have dead-pan expressions because they can’t waste time in expressing themselves to you. They have other things to do.”

Alia bhatt also had been given strict instructions to not wash her hair for atleast 10 days in order to obtain the bihari girl look which she was seen donning in the film. It takes real dedication to go through 10 days of the hairy mess.

But Natalie Portman went to crazy extremes to learn Ballet. Reports suggest that she practiced ballet for eight hours a day for months. Also while practicing she dislocated a rib.

Movie: Raman Raghav 2.0Nawazuddin Siddiqui played the role of serial killer in the film. Nawazuddin being the stupendous actor he is did not compromise in the movie and opted for method acting. which in turn adversely affected his mental health. Talking about his role, Nawaz said,

Somewhere I could not tell what is right and what is wrong. Those lines in my life got blurred. Then what happens is that film gets completed but it stills remains alive in your life as it is said that ‘if you take something from the character then it also takes a lot of things out of your life.”

5. Varun Dhawan

His performance and character sketch got him the best appreciation of his career so far. But as a cost to all this he had to lose an important relationship.. Badlapur had vast effect on Varun Dhawan. He said,

“Badlapur messed me up and I had gone crazy. So many people around me left me and one of them was my girlfriend.”

He lost 18 kgs weight in 28 days. While talking to Mumbai Mirror how painful this transformation was for him. He was quoted saying, “I was a muscular 94 kg at the time and while it’s easy to burn fat, it’s hard to lose muscle. I was expecting to shoot the portions when Sarabjit was a pahalwan in his village and then slowly shed weight. The decision came as a shock and led to a period of physical and mental torture.

In order to achieve the skeleton body look, Randeep Hooda went on a strict diet supervised by his sister Dr Anjali Hooda-Sangwan which allowed him only 500-600 calories per day, with a few cheat days where he was allowed starch. Proteins and greens constituted the major part of his diet. He credits his sister’s monitoring of his health as the reason he was able to pull this off.

The entire process was grueling for Hooda,

Like I do with everything else, I overdid this too, going on a zero calorie diet without realizing the body needs sugar to function. The lack of it almost drove me crazy. I was thinking about food all the time, there were days when I was so hungry I couldn’t sleep. There came a point when I wasn’t even allowed an apple and was so emaciated I could barely walk.

At these times he would crave food items like Parathas with white Makkhan and Hot Chocolate Fudge from Nirula’s often sketching them to compensate for not being able to actually eat them. He stopped socializiong and drink on New Year’s Eve made him ‘dizzy’ and forced him to return home.

Movie: Mary KomPriyanka Chopra donned muscular look for this look. She had to undergo rigid training, regular practice and a strict diet. What was really tough for PC was to shed that muscle for her next release DIl Dhadakne Do which was visible to some extent in the movie.
