16 Security Personnel Killed In An Explosive Attack by Maoists in Maharashtra
In the deadly attack on security forces in Gadchiroli district, Maharashtra, at least 16 jawans are feared dead, as Maoists blew up the vehicle carrying them. The improvised explosive device (IED) was used to blow up the vehicle when the security forces were traveling through Lendri pool around 6 km from Kukheda in Gadchiroli district.

It is being reported that there is an exchange of fire between security personnel and the Maoists at the location of the blast.
Earlier, they had torched more than two dozen vehicles of a road construction company in Gadchiroli. These vehicles were owned by a company involved in the construction works of National Highway 136 near Dadpur village.
This deadly incident happened when the state is celebrating its foundation day i.e. Maharashtra Divas. It is the second major attack by the Maoists in recent times.
Earlier, BJP MLA Bheema Mandavi and four police officers were killed in an attack in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh last month.
