For his performance, Ajay went on to win the National Film Award. 2. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) Based on a Maitreyi Devi's Bengali novel Na Hanyate, this film was a love triangle. This was one of the best roles played by Ajay Devgn in his 25-year long career. 3. Deewangee (2002) This is one the first movies where Ajay essayed a negative role. It was a psychological thriller film based on Hollywood film Primal Fear (1996) starring Richard Gere. 4. Yuva (2004) Ajay Devgn was promising as a young political leader in Mani Ratnam flick. 5. Raincoat (2004) You might have heard this film name but rarely people have seen this one. This is one a rare film where Ajay Devgn and Aishwarya performed brilliantly, the story of the film is based on O Henry's classic short story, The Gift Of The Magi (1906). 6. Main Aisa Hi Hoon (2005) In this movie, Ajay Devgn played a mentally challenged father of a little girl. This film was a Hollywood remake of I Am Sam, starring Sean Penn in the lead role. 7. Halla Bol (2008) This movie didn't perform well but it was Ajay Devgn performance which counted. This film deals with the social evils and Ajay was the one who leads the fight. 8. Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge (2010) Though it was all in all Paresh Rawal's film but still Ajay Devgn's performance was at the par. This is one of his best comedy films. 9. Aakrosh (2010) This movie was dealt with honor killings and based on real incidents in Bihar. This was a serious movie and Ajay performed brilliantly as a gritty cop. 10. Drishyam (2015) He hardly speaks in this film, but his mind runs faster than the cops. This is a common man story who wants to save his child and family by any means possible.
